On July 20, 1997, our Shul
celebrated the dedication of a Torah, commissioned by Helen and Leon Rubin in honor of
their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The event was held in the Abrams Hebrew
Academy, Yardley PA and was attended by approximately 125 people. |
Guests of honor were, of course,
the immediate family and friends of the Rubins, many who came from far, far away to honor
the occasion, as well as a distinguished group of Rabbanim. The latter included Rabbi
Pesach Lerner of the National Council of YI. Rabbi B. Leizerowski, who completed the Sefer
Torah and his father Rabbi Y. Leizerowski, who officiated at the wedding of Helen and
Leon, 50 years earlier. How many couples could claim that the rabbi who married them also
officiated 50 years later at their golden wedding anniversary with its special
implications for the spiritual continuity of the Jewish people. |
Completing a Torah is a rare event
in most individuals lives, so it was a great mitzvah to be present. The event would
not have been the success that it was without the dedicated effort of members of our Shul. |
All attendees had a most enjoyable
time as is evident from the photographs taken at the Simchah !! |

Below is a spectacular
spinning 3-D cube view of the photographs !! |
(for those with Internet
Explorer and Netscape versions 3.0 and higher) |
1. There are 6 images that will
load. Please be patient while they load (the first time you access this page it will take
2-3 minutes for the cube to load and start spinning). It is well worth the wait! |
2. Place your mouse cursor on a
side of the cube and it will slow down. Move your mouse away from the cube and it will
speed up after a 5-10 second delay. Click once (or twice) on any face of the cube to stop
the cube and view a photograph. |
3. After you have viewed the
photograph, click the cube once (or twice) again, wait about 5-10 seconds, and the
cube will start rotating again. Move your mouse away from the cube to speed up the
rotation. If it does not begin to rotate, click your browser's "Refresh" button.
|
4. You can also spin the cube with
your mouse by moving your mouse cursor quickly around the cube. |
5. For those without a Java
enabled browser, the photographs are also presented with captions below the cube. |
|
Below is the standard way to view the photos, as well as
a description of each. |
